Vintage High Chair in Natural Wood and Warm White

I love giving old pieces new life. This vintage wooden high chair was my latest makeover project. I am loving the end look, how about you? This solid wood cutie was found by my furniture scouting sister. I messaged the seller sight unseen I would take it. My Mom picked it up and delivered to my door. THANKS family for all your help!

Fusion Mineral Paint Project #2 ~ wooden file cabinet

Originally I had another piece in mind to try Fusion Mineral casement paint on but when it came time I switched and chose this wooden file cabinet. Finished in the white would make it universal to any office or home space.

As per usual the wood piece got a good scrub down and the hardware removed. Shake the jar of paint, grab a good poly brush and start painting, this paint goes on lovely and is self leveling so brush strokes are minimal. It dries fast as well.
Casement is a nice white but brighter then I thought so I did distress the edges to give the piece some dimension and after it dried well overnight, added dark wax. This popped the wood grain perfectly and toned the white to the perfect color I was looking for.

left shows just plain paint and right with dark wax
this picture shows it better done half and half ;)

Although brass seems to be making a comeback, I chose to changed the hardware to an oil rubbed bronze. I think it too adds and overall aged look to this new replica wood file cabinet.

time to put the hardware back on and buff the wax finish and bring in to get some photos

just look how the dark wax enhances that wood grain and ages the casement white!
I am very pleased with the coverage, color and consistency of Fusion Mineral Paint and love how the project ended up looking just like I envisioned the "old" wooden file cabinet to become.
