Vintage High Chair in Natural Wood and Warm White

I love giving old pieces new life. This vintage wooden high chair was my latest makeover project. I am loving the end look, how about you? This solid wood cutie was found by my furniture scouting sister. I messaged the seller sight unseen I would take it. My Mom picked it up and delivered to my door. THANKS family for all your help!

Strip, Stain and Fusion coffee table

I have an affection for solid wood pieces from the past. I find they exude character and are built to last forever. Most times though the finish does not hold up thru the years of use. Take this gorgeous Queen Anne French provincial coffee table. It is solid thick wood but has a crazed shellac finish with water damage.. lets give it some love.

Sanding was not going to work, even stripper took 2 + coats to remove the thick top

then power sanding from 80 - 120 grit sand paper to get a smooth bare wood ready to stain

A coat of wood conditioner followed by a coat of General Finishes antique walnut gel stain (shown on right side of above left picture) then wiped off to leave a beautiful rich color (above right) Once it dried well for over 72 hours I added 4 coats of General Finishes high performance top coat in flat finish for a beautiful durable finish that enhances the gorgeous grain.

For the base I chose Fusion Mineral paint in limestone, a neutral warm white perfect to match any décor color

Between and after the second coat I wet distressed the edges. I find this the easiest method to distress Fusion Mineral paint.

To enhance the details give the table additional character, I added dark wax to the warm white using Fusion Mineral paint dark wax in espresso.

Once all was dry, a soft buff and the table has been given new life..

This beauty is currently for sale, more details can be found on my Facebook page link to the right sidebar... if you are near Calgary Alberta Canada and would like to have this gorgeous girl in your home!
