The beautiful constructed Roxton solid maple cabinet was in immaculate condition and just needed a refreshing paint update.
The customer chose a neutral warm white; Fusion Mineral Paint's Champlain. First step was to remove the door escutcheons. The customer had removed the hardware and glass prior to dropping off which really sped up the process.
The entire piece was then cleaned well with warm water, a bit of liquid soap and
Fusion's TSP and a soft rag.
Once dry it was time to paint. Using Fusion's 2" angled brush, Champlain was applied to all the exterior parts of the cabinet. Above is the first coat drying.
Once that coat was dry, I lightly sponge sanded the edges to distress just a bit. The customer was not sure about leaving the inside the original finish.
But decided to have it painted as well so on went a coat of Champlain. A second coat was brushed on the next day and the entire piece was sponge sanded with the edges distressed again.

To keep the vintage farmhouse feel, Fusion Mineral Paint's wax in espresso was applied. See above left for with and right without. It really adds age and dimension doesn't it?
Here is the espresso wax going on the gorgeous dental detailing.
It makes it pop!!
Seeing I did not have the hardware I just did a quick finger hold to snap this photo of the completed lower door dark waxed.
As well I balanced the doors for this all together shot. It is just perfect.
The customer kindly sent me a photo of it in her home before and after.
