I started with my usual 6 foot long by 8" wide spruce board. All sides are sanded smooth.
This is my go to FAVORITE high traffic surface refinishing product. I have used it on so many projects.
Once dry it was ready to add the measurement details.
All was lightly sanded with a fine grit sanding pad when dry then sealed with a couple coats of tough coat watered down a bit for added sheen and ease of marking.

This Grandma measuring stick is now ready for the grandkids to mark their heights and see who is the tallest or at least as tall as grandma :)
