One-of-a-Kind Ornate Vintage Dresser in Classic Black & Gold

This stunning vintage dresser features beautifully ornate, raised detailing that adds elegance and charm to any space. The classic black finish enhances its timeless appeal, while the wood veneer construction offers both beauty and function. Measuring 70"L x 18.75"D x 31"H, it includes nine roomy drawers for ample storage. The original hardware has been refreshed in a modern gold tone but can be changed to black at the buyer’s request. A truly unique piece that combines vintage character with functional design.

Green and Floral Round Tray Makeover

This round tray has been completely reimagined. Its original shabby chic white finish has been updated to a rich dark green, and a delicate floral rice paper adds a touch of elegance. A final layer of dark wax deepens the colour and accentuates the details, giving it a beautifully aged, vintage feel.

My mother in law gave me a set of round decorative trays to relove. This is the larger 13" one.

You can find the smaller 11" tray's relove HERE.

Like furniture restores, the first step is to clean the piece well. I sprayed the tray with white lightning cleaner then wiped again with clean damp cloth and let dry.

Both trays had some surface issues including possible wax or oil so to seal the surfaces I applied on all sides clear Dixie Belle BOSS using an angled 2" synthetic brush. This product blocks seals and primes all in one.

This was left to dry 24 hours.

Dixie Belle silk mineral paint in rich green Acadia was brushed on all sides and the back with a small flat synthetic brush. Two coats were applied in total.

This rich dark green color was pretty but the trays deserved a bit more pizzaz so I chose a pretty newly released rice decoupage paper called rose tapestry.

Using a box cutter, I carefully cut the paper to fit the round trays edges.

Now it is ready to glue down.

I used flat clear coat brushed on with a medium round synthetic brush
on the tray center while lifting the edges after spraying the underside of the paper first with a fine mist spray bottle.

Turning the tray and repeating these steps continued till the paper was all secure then the top of the paper was given a clear coat as well.

A couple hours later another clear coat was applied on the top of the paper.

The final touch was adding brown best dang wax around the inner edges with an angled artist brush then buffed out to blend.

A dedicated dark wax 1" premium chip brush was used to highlight the 90 degree edges and bring our details in the wood and metal handles. This dark wax gives and added dimension and vintage vibe to the tray.

A few days later after all dried well, I brushed on another flat clear coat.

This round tray has a whole new look and vibe.
