Walnut MCM Dresser with Warm White Accents

I am a huge wood grain fan and when I find MCM pieces which usually are walnut wood I am thrilled to give them an update. This 6 drawer dresser did not disappoint. The warm white and wood combo is always a favorite of mine. How about you?

Classic Black and Floral Bread Box

Usually my bread boxes are classically simple but for this hand crafted beauty I went with classic black with a bold floral design.

This hand crafted solid oak bread box was scored at a local thrift shop. As always the first step is to scrub thoroughly inside and out with Dixie Belle white lightning cleaner then rinse well and towel dry. I then leave for a day to be sure all is dry, a light sanding with a Dixie Belle sanding sponge then wiped with damp cloth and dried once more.

I chose anchor a classic black in the Dixie Belle silk mineral paint line. I used the small oval Dixie Belle synthetic brush to brush on 2 coats top, bottom and all sides.

Links to the Dixie Belle products are for your convenience. My affiliation with this paint company does not increase prices on your end, your purchases via my links do however provide a small subsidy which allows me to keep providing these tutorials. Thank you!

And of course over the roll top door moving it as I went to get in all the creases. Once the two coats were dry, I used the Dixie Belle sanding sponge to smooth the paint and lightly distress the edges to give a rustic feel to the bread box.

Once dry I like to let the silk paint paint cure for a day or two before adding a transfer. I chose the  floral romance Dixie Belle transfer. Cut out the pieces you want to use and place where you want. On the roll top door I used an exacto knife to slice the transfer between the slats.

Once all were in place, I sealed all the transfers with clear Dixie Belle's best dang wax. I apply my wax with a dedicated Dixie Belle best dang brush which makes the job super fast.

To refresh the inside I applied Dixie Belle Big Mama’s Butta with another dedicated Dixie Belle best dang brush. Wipe away excess like the clear wax and this beauty is ready to serve.

It is AVAILABLE on my Etsy Store

Painting all sides makes it viewable from any direction.
