Classic Black Antique China Cabinet

Does anyone have china dishes anymore? Is it still a thing? Years ago, when I got married, it was all about picking your china pattern and creating a gift registry for the pieces you needed. My pattern was called Chelsea by Royal Doulton, and it was a soft muted floral.

IKEA Lamp Update

My middle daughter requested her light wood IKEA lamp base get a makeover to match her homes all black style. With a few simple steps it became exactly what she envisioned.

The sleek modern look of this IKEA lamp would be perfect done all in black right?

After the cord and post were released and moved to the side the base was wiped clean then lightly sanded to scuff up the wood surface then wiped free of any dust.

Using my flat small Dixie Belle synthetic brush I brushed on the classic anchor Dixie Belle silk mineral paint.

Two coats of this amazing all in one paint was needed. No extra steps are needed but if the piece was to get allot of wear an additional Dixie Belle satin clear coat  could be applied.

The super simple and quick update gives a whole new cohesive look to the lamp.

The pretty bulb was put in and this beauty is ready to light up the night!!
