Vintage High Chair in Natural Wood and Warm White

I love giving old pieces new life. This vintage wooden high chair was my latest makeover project. I am loving the end look, how about you? This solid wood cutie was found by my furniture scouting sister. I messaged the seller sight unseen I would take it. My Mom picked it up and delivered to my door. THANKS family for all your help!

Navy Ceramic Plant Pot Makeover #2

I love plants but it seems I am running out of pots. I had spray painted this ceramic pot a few years back but the paint started to flake off in time. I have since learned the secret to adhering paint to ANY smooth surface ceramic, glass, plastic etc. It is Dixie Belle Slick Stick. Then for this one I chose a deep navy from the Dixie Belle silk mineral paint line. Let me share the process.

This is the failed spray painted pot with most of the paint scrubbed off. Be sure to scrub well with a good cleaner like Dixie Belle white lightning cleaner, rinse and dry well.

The amazing Dixie Belle Slick Stick was brushed on with a Dixie Belle premium chip brush and allowed to dry then a second coat applied and the pot left to dry well at least 24 hours.

Deep sea  silk mineral paint is a gorgeous rich navy. Using my 2" mini Dixie Belle synthetic brush, the first coat went on.

After the first coat above dried I brushed on a second one and that is it. The silk mineral paint has a built in primer and top coat making it a one step product but over slippery surfaces the key to success is the Slick Stick.

I have done few plant pots recently with this fabulous base coat and they all look as amazing as the day they were done.

  1. This pot looks great! I will have to remember the Slick Stick trick, I have never tried their products, but know many people love them. I have a few things I have attempted to paint over the years where the paint did not stick, this would have been helpful! Thank you for sharing with Whimsy Home Wednesday!
