Vintage High Chair in Natural Wood and Warm White

I love giving old pieces new life. This vintage wooden high chair was my latest makeover project. I am loving the end look, how about you? This solid wood cutie was found by my furniture scouting sister. I messaged the seller sight unseen I would take it. My Mom picked it up and delivered to my door. THANKS family for all your help!

Modern Charcoal Computer Desk

Modern - charcoal - with a pretty pattern on the top were my goals for this plain desk makeover. The end look achieved my one of a kind plan.

The desk had a custom cut glass top which kept the desktop in great condition.

The knob was removed first. The entire desk was wiped down with a spray bottle of Dixie Belle white lightning cleaner mix and a soft cloth. This was followed with a wipe with clean water and a fresh cloth.

Then using a Dixie Belle sanding sponge the entire piece was scuff sanded for the best paint adherence to this type of smooth finish.

After all areas were sanded, the desk was wiped clean once again with a clean damp cloth.

Using my fav mini Dixie Belle synthetic brush, I applied a coat of black sands Dixie Belle silk mineral paint.

Two coats were put on in total. After each coat was dry, it was lightly sanded with a more worn sanding sponge to make the paint feel silky smooth.

Allow to dry well over night. I had originally planned for the lace Dixie Belle transfer. But the next day I changed my mind.

And chose between these 2 Dixie Belle stencils.

Retro lattice was the choice.

Place the stencil in the center of the desk top. Secure it in place with painters tape.

Silver bullet Dixie Belle Metallic Moonshine paint is the stencil color.

I rolled the paint over stencil, lifted the stencil,

move to each side and repeat. Once dry it was lightly sanded to give a soft worn look.

Simple yet sleek.

The custom glass top  adds a bit of modern sparkle. The glass also allows the desk to function as a pretty plant stand with no worries of water damage.

It also would make a great sofa table too.

The pull out - fold down drawer front is so handy yet hidden.

  2. Love the way this project turned out LeeAnn. I never knew how wonderful glass tops were until we purchased a dresser and nightstand set from an auction. I love the way it keeps the tops of our pieces from dents, and water rings when someone forgets to grab a coaster! Thank you for sharing!
