Walnut MCM Dresser with Warm White Accents

I am a huge wood grain fan and when I find MCM pieces which usually are walnut wood I am thrilled to give them an update. This 6 drawer dresser did not disappoint. The warm white and wood combo is always a favorite of mine. How about you?

Lovely Sonnet Rice Papered Bottle

I am a sucker for glass. Every time I put one of these rum bottles in the recycling I think to myself "But it is such a pretty shape". I decided to give 2 of these glass bottles a new look. This one received a vintage floral old script look with my latest favorite Dixie Belle rice decoupage paper; lovely sonnet.

I think it turned out so lovely, you?

The shape of these glass bottles is just begging to be made pretty. The bottles were rinsed and the labels removed from one.

The secret to being sure everything sticks to glass is Dixie Belle Slick Stick. Two coats left to dry for 24 hours is what you need.

I made these DAP acrylic molds years ago and they are still soft and pliable and very much useable. I decided which ones to add to this project.

Now to cover the bottle. The lovely sonnet Dixie Belle rice decoupage paper was applied using Dixie Belle satin clear coat as the adhesive. Be sure to cover all areas with the clear coat where the paper will be placed.

I also used this fabulous paper on this wooden bowl. Did you know you could update a wooden bowl with paper?

I flipped the bottle over and did the other side cutting paper to fit.

The sides and any blank spaces were filled. I also covered the cork top. Then apply the clear coat all over the top of the paper covered bottle to seal it.

Then let it dry.

You may have seen my wooden bowl makeover using this beautiful paper as well.

Now back to the acrylic molds. I used gold Dixie Belle Gilding Wax and a Dixie Belle Artist Brush to paint them all over. Now to let them dry.

The cork top had gold wax painted around the edge too.

The now dry molds were glued in place.

I put longer ones down each side too.

Take a video tour, do you love it as much as I do?
