Vintage Art Deco China Cabinet Restore

This Art Deco waterfall china cabinet, circa 1940, had seen better days. Tucked away in a shop and used as a storage shelf, it was in rough shape. A family member, inspired by a photo featuring rich navy tones and warm wood, wanted to see it brought back to life. With that vision in mind, I gave the piece the repairs and makeover it deserved — blending classic navy with warm wood to honor both its history and a fresh new style.

Farmhouse Crate

This little wooden crate just needed some paint and dark wax to give it personality.

It is available on my Etsy store

Start by scrubbing the piece well with a cleaner like Simple Green cleaner and a scrub brush to get in all the corners.

Jolie Paint's palace white was dry brushed on all sides then lightly sanded to smooth the wood and remove some of the paint using a sanding sponge. A damp cloth wiped a bit of the paint off the metal corners for a worn look.

The entire crate was sealed with Jolie's clear wax using their fabulous wax brush. To add dimension and give an aged look, their brown wax was applied in corners and around the edges. I LOVE their wax brush and have 2, one for each color wax.
