Vintage Art Deco China Cabinet Restore

This Art Deco waterfall china cabinet, circa 1940, had seen better days. Tucked away in a shop and used as a storage shelf, it was in rough shape. A family member, inspired by a photo featuring rich navy tones and warm wood, wanted to see it brought back to life. With that vision in mind, I gave the piece the repairs and makeover it deserved — blending classic navy with warm wood to honor both its history and a fresh new style.

Another Custom Built 2X4 Work Bench

Perhaps you recall the large work bench we built for our shop, a neighbor loved it and requested one built for his shop too. Here is his which was custom built to seat multiple people around it to work at counter height.

To build this table required
            • 3 - 4" X 4" X 8' treated posts
            • 25 - 2" X 4" X 10' boards
            • 1 tub of #8 2 1/2" long screws

The top was laid out with an apron edge screwed together then the posts cut in half and set in place to decide the best most stable location that still allows seating around the table.

Cross supports were cut and set in place.

With more boards laid in place ready to assemble.

They were then screwed in place to the posts. No screws were put thru from the top of the table.

Once secured on the under side we lifted and flipped this behemoth wooden work bench over.

The underneath shelf was screwed in place. This adds even more stability and strength to the bench.
