Why have a plain boring wooden magazine rack when you can give it a one of a kind look?
To give the paint something to grip seeing the surface is so smooth every side was lightly sanded with a fine grit

SurfPrep. Then everything was wiped to get all sanding dust removed.
All the pieces are now ready to be painted.
Again using the fine grit
RAD pad by
SurfPrep I went over all the stenciled areas to give a lightly worn effect.
The new silk line has a built in top coat so no further sealing steps were needed. The pieces were reassembled and the rack was back in working order.
