I saw this wine gift basket and immediately envisioned it repurposed with rice paper to become a pretty and useful storage basket.
The first step was to cover the gold stamped business logo.
When dry it was sanded smooth.
Bougainvillea Dixie Belle Terra Clay Paint matched the basket color perfectly so was painted in a few cocats over the filled area. This gives a solid base color for the rice paper to cover.
Native rose rice decoupage paper is so pretty and paired perfectly with the box color. Pieces were cut to fit the sides then decopauged onto the basket using Terra Seal as the adhesive brushed under and over the paper. Terra seal is matte.
This is a 3 minute video of how I decoupage with these products.

Paper progress. Let each section dry before moving on.
On the ends I placed the dry pieces of cut paper and fold the edges in place. This makes it custom fit to the tapered edges.
Cut along the folded edges for the perfect fit.

And the last piece is now "glued" in place.
The final step was to do a final coat of satin clear coat to give the basket a little bit of sheen.
This gift basket is now ready to store things with a gorgeous new look.
