Vintage Art Deco China Cabinet Restore

This Art Deco waterfall china cabinet, circa 1940, had seen better days. Tucked away in a shop and used as a storage shelf, it was in rough shape. A family member, inspired by a photo featuring rich navy tones and warm wood, wanted to see it brought back to life. With that vision in mind, I gave the piece the repairs and makeover it deserved — blending classic navy with warm wood to honor both its history and a fresh new style.

Sprayed and Stenciled Lazy Susan

See how this solid wood hand crafted lazy susan goes from plain to pretty.

There is no stamp or identification to the wood worker who built this lazy susan but it is well made and sealed up in a clear coat. After a good scrub it was ready to gets its update.

Krylon color master spray paint in the soft green color called Catalina mist was the chosen color. Spray in a well ventilated area (I use my horse barn) and apply many light coats for perfect coverage.

I also used Catalina Mist on this wrought iron basket.

And let it dry well.

To add a bit more pizzazz, I stenciled a design in the center using Fusion Mineral Paint in picket fence and a Waverly stencil. It has a simple mandala feel don't you think? When dry, the stencil and the turn about was lightly sanded for a more country feel.
