From Dated to Designer: The Secretary Desk Refresh

This transformation takes a dated, two-tone secretary desk and turns it into a sophisticated, modern statement piece. By trading the aged pink and cream for a uniform, soft neutral, the beautiful French provincial lines of the piece truly get to shine. Worn Navy Finish Wine Rack


When I found this acacia wood wine rack I knew it would be the perfect gift for a wine loving young couple's wedding.



After a good scrub it was time to paint. I chose Jolie Paint in classic navy. I used this gorgeous color on this vintage sideboard.


I painted on one coat to give more of a worn stained look as the wood grain was gorgeous and should be part of the end look. To see a bit more of the wood grain I used Jolie Paint's sanding pads to distress a bit, add to the worn look and give the paint a super smooth surface.


To seal and add more dimension, I sealed the paint with a coat of Jolie's black wax using their fabulous wax brush for the perfect worn navy finish.
