Sometimes it just takes a slight change up of color to give a piece new life.
This desk caught my eye when I saw it on an online sale site. I like the minimalistic sleek style.
The hardware was removed as step 1 then on to cleaning. It did take a bit to clean as there was the grossest underside from someone with a full nose who chose to wipe it all under the desk! I chipped it off and sucked up with a shop vac then scrubbed with paper towel and I have to say I did gag multiple times. Hands down this is the biggest/most disgusting cleaning job in over 7 years. But with perseverance and a final cleaning with cleaner and damp cloth the desk was ready for its makeover.
There were a few dinged edges that lightl
y sanded with a sanding sponge and rewiped and touched up with a black oil pen. I chose classic navy from Jolie Paint as the color update. I knew this desk would look fabulous in this timeless color. Check out this gorgeous sideboard I did in the same color.
I brushed it on with my
Cling On short brush. Two coats were brushed on all sides for an all round finished view.
Then the rest of the desk. The original hardware was just cleaned and put back on.
Now the desk is ready for many more years of service. This desk however has an additional job as the customer who called it from my stock wants it to be a luggage station in a guest room. Isn't that a great idea?
The top has character vs just a flat color.
This project has my affiliate link to Jolie Paint; prices do not change when you purchase paint and supplies thru the link, They do however give me a small credit to continue creating more amazing pieces using Jolie Paint.
