Refinished Solid Oak Queen Headboard – Classic Black with Rattan & Elegant Details

This stunning queen-size headboard is a true statement piece, crafted from solid oak and beautifully refinished in a rich, classic black. This is the tallest salt and pepper set I have seen. They are jumbo at 16" high. A customer wanted them updated in a rich green color and chose Fusion Mineral Paint bayberry.

As always the first step was to scrub them well. There is always something on wood surfaces after years of use that will affect the paint adherence.

Size is deceptive so I put the paint tub beside them. Tall right?

Three coats of Fusion Mineral Paint bayberry were carefully brushed on for a smooth seamless finish. The customer did not want an aged look but rather a modern solid look. To add a bit of shine over the matte paint I hand rubbed in Homestead House clear wax.
