Classic Black Antique China Cabinet

Does anyone have china dishes anymore? Is it still a thing? Years ago, when I got married, it was all about picking your china pattern and creating a gift registry for the pieces you needed. My pattern was called Chelsea by Royal Doulton, and it was a soft muted floral.

Super Fast Second Makeover

A few years back my daughter bid on an item I had as a charity auction. It was a yellow with dark wax paper towel holder. In the years that have passed it seen lots of kitchen action and was now oil stained and in need of a second makeover. This is what I love about the power of paint, it is easy to update and refresh.

This is our next victim, I mean project. See the oil splatters?
Originally it was just boring blond wood before the rustic yellow update.

First step was to spray it with Dixie Belle white lightening cleaner in a spray bottle then wipe with clean water. I also gave it a light sanding with a to be sure the oil was gone and the surface was smooth and accepting of paint.

With a frosty glass of homemade kombucha, my iPad and Netflix and my Dixie Belle silk paint in deep sea I was ready to give it a fresh new look.

Here is 2 coat of the classic navy all in one paint applied with a Dixie Belle chip brush.

Two coats were all it needed and being an all in one paint there are no other steps required. Super easy update!
