Classic Black Antique China Cabinet

Does anyone have china dishes anymore? Is it still a thing? Years ago, when I got married, it was all about picking your china pattern and creating a gift registry for the pieces you needed. My pattern was called Chelsea by Royal Doulton, and it was a soft muted floral.

Wall Mirror Formerly A Dresser Mirror

Upcycled dresser mirror to share with you done in a soft green, white and silver.

I try and give as many pieces new life when I can and these dusty old dresser mirrors waited patiently for their turn. They were in great reflective condition and the rectangular shape worked to use on a wall or as a childs standing mirror. One mirror has already been reloved in purple and silver and found its forever home.

After a good wipe down and cleaning of the glass the center design was removed. I then put slick paper under the edges and painted on a coat of tide pool Dixie Belle silk mineral paint.

On this one I wanted to try a raised design on the top edge. The tea towel floral Dixie Belle stencil was my choice to go with the existing corner appliques.

For the raised texture I used white Dixie Belle mud applied with an offset spatula.

And this was the design once stencil lifted. It was left to dry well overnight.

The next day I lightly sanded the design with a Dixie Belle sanding sponge to remove and pointy peeks then painted it all a second coat of tide pool green silk mineral paint.

On the lower edges I used a design from the delicate lace Dixie Belle silk screen stencil applying whitecap silk mineral paint with a Dixie Belle Artist Brush. I also used this brush and white color to paint the wooden and mud texture designs at the top.

To add a bit of shimmer and shine silver Dixie Belle Gilding Wax was applied over the white designs with my fingertip.

I am not sure if I love the white/silver detailing but it is super easy to paint over!
