Refinished Solid Oak Queen Headboard – Classic Black with Rattan & Elegant Details

This stunning queen-size headboard is a true statement piece, crafted from solid oak and beautifully refinished in a rich, classic black. It features gracefully curving finials, intricate oval cartouche accents, and a striking inset rattan panel that adds texture and timeless appeal. Finished with a smooth satin clear coat for durability and a subtle sheen, this headboard blends traditional charm with modern sophistication.

Raised Stencil Wood Tote

Raised stencil wooden tote tutorial today.

I scored this sweet solid wood tote at the thrift store that was created for some woodworkers conference.

Using DAP wood pro-x and my handy credit card, I filled in the wood burned details and power sanded for a smooth surface. This was done on both sides.

The inside was painted with HomesteadHouse Milk Paint in bright cheery garden seed.

To the remaining yellow milk paint I added Fusion Mineral Paint  fresco powder to create an embossing paste.

I applied it over a Celtic stencil from The Stencil Warehouse .

Then the stencil was carefully lifted to reveal the design and left to dry overnight before repeating on the other side and ends.

Once it was all good and dry it was ready to paint.

Fusion Mineral Paint in the soft turquoise blue called little tea pot was brushed over the outside of the tote.

The raised stencil was lightly sanded using a sanding sponge to reveal the yellow.

Fusion Mineral Paint's ageing wax was brushed over the raised areas and edges to give an aged feel to the tote and highlight the details.

Isn't it adorable?
