Vintage High Chair in Natural Wood and Warm White

I love giving old pieces new life. This vintage wooden high chair was my latest makeover project. I am loving the end look, how about you? This solid wood cutie was found by my furniture scouting sister. I messaged the seller sight unseen I would take it. My Mom picked it up and delivered to my door. THANKS family for all your help!

Aubergine Jewelry Box

I have an affection for jewelry boxes. They are the perfect makeover candidates and are a perfect place to try a new color. Like aubergine from Dixie Belle Paint.

Here are many more jewelry box tutorials in almost every color.

The bones of this cutie were great, the faux paint job was not.

I am always a fan of lots of storage and neutral lining color; this one had both.

This is not wood, it is a form of faux finish but will look beautiful soon. I good cleaning with a soft damp rag and some spray cleaner were the first step in the makeover process. The drawers were vacuumed and cleaned as well.

Dixie Belle Paint in the rich purple eggplant color called aubergine was brushed on in two coats for perfect coverage.

To add some subtle charm to the door I picked 3 of my stencils and asked my trusty sister to choose one.

I used my stencil brush and Dixie Belle Paint in midnight sky; a charcoal color for the design.

LOVE IT!! How about you?

I also added to both sides of the drawers for a fun surprise when the drawers were opened.

The stenciled design is subtle yet classy, just what I wanted. I used a wee artist brush to add the midnight sky color in the 2 grooves around the stencil door design.

The entire jewelry box was lightly sanded with a paper bag then sealed with Dixie Belle's best dang wax. Clear was rubbed in all over and black was added to the edges and other crannies to further add dimension.

It was posted on my Etsy Store but sold in about an hour. Thank you Heather!
