Vintage Art Deco China Cabinet Restore

This Art Deco waterfall china cabinet, circa 1940, had seen better days. Tucked away in a shop and used as a storage shelf, it was in rough shape. A family member, inspired by a photo featuring rich navy tones and warm wood, wanted to see it brought back to life. With that vision in mind, I gave the piece the repairs and makeover it deserved — blending classic navy with warm wood to honor both its history and a fresh new style.

Quick Mirror Update

Let me share how I gave this old mirror a new look.

Someone had tried to update it in the past but think tape or wear gave it a beat up look.

After cleaning it well I applied 2 coats of Fusion Mineral Paint in Champlain, a pretty warm white.

My next plan was to use Fusion's gilding paste in gold (discontinued) and apply it to my new Indian Inlay stencil from Cutting Edge Stencils however once I tried the paste was too thin to work as a stencil medium. Instead I wiped it on via fingertip on the frame.

Then I added Fusion Mineral Paint's ageing wax to the frame to give an aged look to compliment the soft aged gold. The farmhouse style jewelry box was painted similarly.

It is such a pretty update to create a classic beauty just like this sweet pumpkin updated in the same color.
