Classic Black Antique China Cabinet

Does anyone have china dishes anymore? Is it still a thing? Years ago, when I got married, it was all about picking your china pattern and creating a gift registry for the pieces you needed. My pattern was called Chelsea by Royal Doulton, and it was a soft muted floral.

Antiqued Pink Vintage Jewelry Box

Jewelry boxes are so much fun to makeover and give new life. Here is my latest using one in Jolie Paint called rose quartz.

This sweet wooden jewel box has a soft grey lining which pairs perfectly with the soft grey pink hue.

Two coats were carefully brushed on for full coverage.

Using these fabulous perfect sized sanding pads from Jolie Paint, I distressed the edges to show some of the original wood.

To seal this pretty pink paint, Jolie Paint's clear wax wax was hand rubbed all over.

To add an aged antique look to the box, I opted for Daddy Van's cafe noir dark wax which I had on hand having yet to try Jolie's dark wax.

My signature aged look for the glass on my jewelry boxes is a faux mercury glass look. Usually I use  a mirror spray paint but I am all out. Getting creative I tried Rustoleum silver metallic spray combined with their titanium silver metallic spray paint. I used my same technique with misting it with vinegar to achieve a very similar look. Search "faux mercury" in my search box to see all the others I have done to compare.

I did paint the inside of the door a solid black to help reflect the silver paints.

And as per usual, the entire jewelry box was painted all the way around to be pretty from any angle.

What do you think of this one?
