Timeless red updated this vintage jewelry box in style.
It had lived a hard life it seems. The poor necklace carousel was broken and glued on with gobs of hot glue,
And one door had been reglued but crooked. So I carefully removed the carousel and the door and began repairs.
It is important to make sure the door while regluing was square and level. This was my set up to ensure so.
When all was dry the door was put back on as well as the necklace carousel glued securely in place and the paint went on. Jolie Paint in rouge was the classic color of choice.
Two coats were hand painted on all sides as well as the under edge for full coverage.
Then to add dimension and an antiqued finish, Jolie black wax, again with their amazing wax brush was added to the edges.
The glass on the doors were treated in my signature faux mercury glass finish to keep the antiqued look. You can see the how to here and here using Krylon looking glass spray paint.

And it was complete, ready for years more use in this timeless vintage look.
All sides are painted to look pretty from all angles
